After earning a degree in Economics at Quinnipiac University , Charles Santarpia started painting in an attempt to express his non-analytical side. A native of the New Haven area inspired by the works of Edward Hopper and Richard Estes, Charles’ work focuses mainly on local architecture.

Artists Statement

I feel we all exist teetering between the order man has created and the natural order of things. Yet we tend to exalt only the beauty of nature while denying the beauty of the surroundings that mankind has created. The focus of my work is to call attention to the man made beauty surrounding us all, those little details we miss as we walk down the street distracted by our daily worries.
