Artists Statement

My inspiration, my hope, my love is God. Through my creations I attempt to translate the language of expressions, and it is my hope that in some small way these works may inspire others to recognize the movement of love. At the age of thirty-six my family suffered a great loss. Being the youngest of four siblings and the only son, the unexpected passing of my sister Elsie Renee Boyd was a difficult time for myself and my family. As my family began to rally around one another for support it became clear to me that life is too short not to explore all that we are meant to be. I'd always felt that I could create works with my hands and had from time to time thought of experimenting in clay. The only thing that was holding me back was a lack of faith. The time had come for my faith to turn into action. The time had come for the seed that was planted in my mind to grow roots that would reach my heart. I bought some material and began to work.
Through the tradegy of death God had inspired me towards a more abundant life. I want to know that it is never too late to begin a new. It is never too late for a change. It's never too late to take the expression of love given to all men and translate it into a tangible article.
