RESIDENT ARTIST PARRI FEATURED AT WHITE SPACE

New Haven , CT – White Space, a fine art gallery, located at 1020 Chapel Street 2 nd floor, is hosting an ‘Opening Reception” for resident artist Denise Parri on Friday, September 9, 2005 from 5:00-8:00pm .

The new body of work is entitled “The Colors of Anesthesia” a collection of unbridled emotions. The show will run from September 8 th – October 9 th.

Parri, a visual artist with more than 25 years of related experience connecting creativity to income: Denise has providentially raised a family using her artistic endeavors to generate her success.

A teacher, jewelry designer, faux finisher of interiors, furniture painter, set designer and artist of mixed media, Parri’s art spans her lifetime and continues to grow and develop. One of her most emotional occurred after her commission of 8 wall sculptures for the 21 st floor of the World Trade Center .

Parri reflects, “The tragedy of that event brought forth a body of work. Watching the entire incident was a disbelief I could not ingest. My attempts to contact the people that I had worked for were as exhausting as the digestion of what had happened. I began cutting up stacks of magazines as I watched the news in horror. Little did I know it was acting as a therapy through this disaster for me. It wasn’t long before I realized my personal surroundings began to overflow with bits of paper… I thought how representational! It was time to build it into a body of work. Infinity and Serenade are two of the remaining pieces of that particular body of work.

White Space Gallery is a fine art gallery featuring hand-signed lithographs of the surrealist masters Dali, Picasso, Chagall and Miro. The gallery also spotlights surrealist, contemporary and abstract fine art by hosting a diverse array of original art by emerging prominent international and local living artists and sculptors, as well as works by Resident Artist Denise Parri.
